NORTH + COMET: who plans the date, who forgets the anniversary

One makes the plan, one makes the entrance. NORTH and COMET together, read from their Korean birth chart (saju).

NORTH

NORTH

I set the standard. Keep up.

NORTH: straight authority. Their force is Duty. "You pick a direction, and everyone else finds their bearing."

COMET

COMET

My timing is immaculate. Yours?

COMET: sideways wealth. Their force is Opportunity. "You arrive exactly when it's worth arriving."

One of them holds the plan. One of them shows up late, glowing, holding snacks. Somehow it works. Here is the whole thing laid out, so you can send it to whichever one of these you're dating.

Who plans the date

NORTH. Obviously. NORTH is Systematic: "Nobody gets a snack until the line is straight." They have picked the restaurant, checked the route, and already knows where the edge of the evening is before anyone tests it. At work that's "you hold the plan when the room loses it" and it follows them straight into dinner.

COMET books nothing. COMET is Resourceful: "The sky is locked down with thick thunderclouds? You bank hard and slip through the one patch of open blue." They will find the one good table in a fully booked place and act like it was nothing. It was not nothing. NORTH knows it was not nothing.

Who's late

COMET. Hard to schedule, says the facts, in love. Generous and spontaneous though, so the lateness comes with a prize: "You streak down with that crooked little smirk, snatching the best prize before anyone even looks up." They arrive exactly when it's worth arriving. That is the whole bit.

NORTH is the other one. "Your alarm goes off. You jump out of bed even on days you hate everyone." Already there. Already ordered. Tapping a hoof.

Who texts back first

NORTH. Loyal and literal. "You say what you mean and expect the same back." So the three dots appear fast and the answer is a full sentence.

COMET texts back at a strange hour with something better than a plan. Fluid, Charming, Followed: "You burn across the night sky, dragging a blazing trail of sparks and falling stars right behind you." You cannot stay annoyed at a text like that for long.

The fight

It's the same fight every time. NORTH gets rigid before they get loud, and COMET looks for a way around rather than through.

NORTH wants the fence respected. "The fence has a giant hole. You still walk all the way around to the gate." COMET is already halfway through the hole, waving.

And NORTH's blind spot lands right on it: "A straight line doesn't bend for people." Meanwhile COMET's blind spot is sitting there too: "Timing isn't the same as staying."

Who apologizes first

COMET, with charm, usually before NORTH has finished being right. Then NORTH does the Fair thing: "You slice the watermelon. Your piece is never one seed bigger than theirs." Nobody wins. Everybody eats.

Why it works

NORTH is Centred. "Thunder shakes the trees. The whole herd runs in circles while you stand there chewing grass." COMET is the thunder. NORTH doesn't flinch. COMET gets a place to land that isn't going anywhere.

Also, COMET is Enterprising. "Cold space junk that everyone ignored? You skim past, light it on fire, and turn it into a hot trade." NORTH is the one who says "wait, actually, that's a good idea" out loud. They keep each other honest in opposite directions, and neither one is bored.

Send this to your other half and see which one they claim.

For fun.
