Messi and Ronaldo are each other's Rival. So are Kim and Kanye. Drake got the worst one
BAAK read three of the biggest rivalries of the last twenty years from birthdays alone. Two came back as textbook Rivals. The third came back as a warning.
Some pairs are just written that way.
BAAK has ten roles one person can be to another. Rival is the one with the shortest description:
Rival. Unspoken competition. You sharpen each other, but nobody ever actually admits defeat.
We gave it six birthdays. No stats, no albums, no court filings. Here is what it did with them.
Messi and Ronaldo: Rival, both ways
Messi is a FOX: "I clocked you. Keep talking." The type that sees the flaw before the room sees the rule, which is also a decent description of how he finds a gap in a back four.
Ronaldo is a PEARL: "Richer than I look. Guess again." The type that keeps the value. Twenty years of discipline, one of the most famous bodies in sport, and he is still playing.
The pair: Rival. Messi is Ronaldo's Rival. Ronaldo is Messi's Rival.
Why? Both of them are born on a Wood day, Messi on the loud kind and Ronaldo on the quiet kind. Same element, opposite charge. In a birth chart, that is precisely how a rival is built. Two trees, one patch of sun.
Eight Ballon d'Ors on one side, five on the other, and two decades of each pushing the other higher. You sharpen each other, but nobody ever actually admits defeat. We have nothing to add.
Kim and Kanye: Rival, both ways
Kim is a FOX: "I clocked you. Keep talking." The same type as Messi, as Elon Musk and as Jeff Bezos, if you want a dinner party.
Kanye is a FLARE: "Too much? That's the point." BAAK's line for FLARE is you have more force than the room asked for. We will let that one stand on its own.
The pair: Rival, in both directions. Kim's day is the quiet Fire. Kanye's is the loud Fire. Same element, opposite charge, again.
Two people who, on paper, were always going to be competing for the same spotlight, even while sharing it.
Drake and Kendrick: not Rivals. Worse
You would expect the biggest rap beef in a generation to come back as a clean Rival. It does not.
Drake is a JADE: "In my lane. Stay in yours."
Kendrick is a TAU: "I don't need the hype. You do."
Read those two lines next to each other. Then read the pair:
- Kendrick is Drake's Level-Up: they expose every blind spot you have. Growth is guaranteed; your ego won't survive it.
- Drake is Kendrick's Adventure: electric momentum. Someone's going to burn out first, and it won't be clean.
Your ego won't survive it. In 2024 Kendrick released "Not Like Us". It went on to sweep the Grammys, and he performed it at the Super Bowl.
BAAK wrote the Level-Up line once, for every pair like this. It did not know any of that. It knew two dates.
Who is your Rival?
Everybody has one. The coworker you would never admit you are racing. The friend whose wins you check first. The ex you somehow still measure yourself against.
BAAK reads what anyone is to you, both directions, from two birthdays. They never have to know you looked.
Read from public birthdays (Wikidata). A pair's role comes from the two day masters, which a birthday fixes, so no birth time is needed. For fun: this is what the chart reads, not a claim about anybody's private life. Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates vs Steve Jobs are in Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are the same type.
